Marc's Interview with Kate

M: Answer these questions, not as if you're answering me, but answer them. What's the most exciting thing about being pregnant?

K: What do you mean, about being pregnant?

M: Okay, next question. "Nothing's exciting about being pregnant."

K: No!

M: Come on, what's THE MOST exciting thing about being pregnant? And you can say that you get the summer off next year. And that you'll be off this time next year.

K: That I get the summer off next year.

M: If one of your other friends were to get pregnant at the same time, who would it be?

K: Christina! Because we hang out with them a lot and we picture walking with our babies...

M: Having conversations with your babies.

K: No, because I want to walk my baby in my stroller with somebody. And chat.

M: Do you think I'll be a good dad? And why.

K: Absolutely. It's part of why I married you. I think you'd be a good dad because you're patient, and you're fun, and easygoing, and I just think you'll be a really really good dad. You'll love your kids and make them number one.

Kate's 1st Thought

  • I feel fat.
  • I'm very tired.
  • I know it's only been 10 weeks, so how am I already showing?
  • I'm very concerned about where we're going to put the computer. We only have a 2 bedroom house, and one bedroom is going to be the nursery and the other is ours. What are we going to do with the stupid computer?
  • I want to get rid of the grey carpet in the baby's room, but it's only a year old, so it's not very practical to get rid of it, but I don't think my baby should have a grey carpet.
  • When I was holding my friend's baby, Kendra, it made me feel really excited about having a baby of my own.

The Momma

Baby Bighead will be brought into this world by Katie Elizabeth Marseglia (nee McClintock).

Katie was born on February 2, 1980. She grew up in the Langhorne Gables section of Langhorne/Penndel, Pennsylvania. She attended Our Lady of Grace elementary school. In an attempt to improve her poor coordination she took many tap, jazz, and ballet dance classes growing up. After the eighth grade she moved up to Conwell Egan Catholic High School.

Katie enjoyed an illustrious stay at Egan. She was an instrumental part of the 1997 & 1998 Mathletic team at Egan. Even earning the top Mathlete award her senior year, “Biggest Nerd.” She graduated a remarkable 4th (given her common sense) out of her entire graduating class which further cemented her destiny to always be a geek.

Kate went on to West Chester University were she shrewdly chose to Major in Education before switching gears to a more challenging and useless major, Biology. She graduated in 2002 with her Biology degree and the always cool, magna cum laude designation. After college Katie took a job at ICTI in Newtown, PA as a project specialist.

While all of her scholastic awards were nice, her life was never completely fulfilled until 2001 when a friend set her up with a tall, lean handsome machine. Although Marc was only lukewarm to the idea of going out with Katie a second time he did anyway and what happened next is the stuff fairytales are made out of. Katie stalked Marc for several months until he agreed to go on a third date. Before Marc knew it he was fully entrenched in a “relationship”. Ultimately Marc proposed to Katie and on May 13, 2005 they became Man and Wife.

Katie currently works at ICTI in Newtown, Pa as a Project Manager. She hates her job.
